Being Spurred on in Homemaking + New Blog

Dear friends,

Welcome! This is my first ever post here at A Homemaker Abiding. I am so excited to begin this journey, sharing my life and thoughts with other like-minded women. Are you a homemaker? Say hello, I'd love to meet you!

In the last few weeks, I've realised how distracted I have been this year. We officially started homeschooling our son, Josiah, and this whole year has been me over-reading and over-stressing about everything homeschooling! I've also been supporting my busy husband, our hosting Bible studies and planning to go to England (which is now on for next year, God willing). Somehow, through all this, my desire and discipline for homemaking has gone to the wayside.

But, life is more quiet recently (in some ways!) and the Lord has kindly pressed upon me the importance and the biblical calling as a wife and mother. I've been reminded that I am a bond-slave to Christ, that I am not my own, and this calling I have needs to take greater priority in my daily life. The fire in my heart for homemaking has been ignited again!

For this first post, I wanted to share with you a podcast I listened to twice (within 24 hours) because it was so helpful, so challenging, and so encouraging! God definitely gave me a great hug and push with it. I'm sure you have heard of Marci over at Thankful Homemaker. Her podcast is wonderful and I encourage you to make some time to listen to this one:

Have you listened to it before? What has the Lord been prompting you about in your homemaking recently?

Blessings,

Sarah-Anne
